🔥 W is for Warner Bros. Animation

Warner Bros. Animation is one of the most legendary animation studios of all time.

They didn’t just compete with Disney—they rewrote the rulebook on what animation could be.

They perfected slapstick comedy.

They made TV animation actually good.

They gave us some of the best superhero cartoons ever made.

But like any great empire, they’ve had their ups and downs.

The GOATs (A.K.A. The Greatest Hits of Warner Bros. Animation)

1. Looney Tunes (1930-Present)

• The gold standard of animated comedy.

• Gave us Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Road Runner, and literally every other character that shaped humor forever.

Bugs Bunny is still the best animated character of all time.

Chuck Jones, Tex Avery, Bob Clampett, Friz Freleng—these animators were absolute madmen.

2. Animaniacs (1993-1998, 2020-2023)

• A show that was allegedly for kids but was actually for adults.

• The Warner siblings (Yakko, Wakko, and Dot) were pure chaos.

Every joke was either a history lesson or a lawsuit waiting to happen.

• The Pinky & The Brain spin-off proved that two lab mice could have a better storyline than most movies.

3. Batman: The Animated Series (1992-1995)

• The best superhero cartoon ever made.

• Gave us Kevin Conroy’s legendary Batman and Mark Hamill’s perfect Joker.

• The dark, noir-inspired animation style was revolutionary.

• Introduced Harley Quinn, who became an instant icon.

4. Justice League / Justice League Unlimited (2001-2006)

• The best DC Comics adaptation ever.

• Expanded the Batman: TAS universe into an entire DC animated world.

Actually made Aquaman cool.

5. Tiny Toon Adventures (1990-1992)

Looney Tunes for a new generation.

Buster Bunny, Babs Bunny, Plucky Duck, and the rest of the crew were straight-up hilarious.

One of the first great animated reboots before reboots got out of control.

6. Freakazoid! (1995-1997)

• An underrated masterpiece of pure chaos.

• A superhero show that cared more about being ridiculous than telling an actual story.

Ahead of its time and canceled too soon.

The Warner Bros. WTF Moments (A.K.A. What Were They Thinking?)

1. Loonatics Unleashed (2005-2007)

What if Looney Tunes, but make it EXTREME?

• The answer? A weird, edgy, futuristic disaster.

2. Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021)

• The first Space Jam was a fun, corporate crossover with heart.

• The sequel? A hollow, CGI-heavy, Warner Bros. IP flex.

LeBron deserved better.

3. Cancelling Young Justice… TWICE

Young Justice was one of the best DC animated shows ever.

• Warner Bros. killed it because they couldn’t sell enough toys.

• Fans brought it back.

• Warner Bros. killed it again anyway.

4. The HBO Max Purge of 2022

• Warner Bros. deleted entire animated shows from existence to save money on taxes.

Infinity Train, Final Space, OK K.O.!all erased.

They literally threw away finished projects.

The Warner Bros. Formula (A.K.A. Why Their Cartoons Are Legendary)

1. Fast-paced, high-energy animation.

2. Perfect comedic timing.

3. Iconic characters that actually evolve.

4. Some of the best writing in animation history.

5. Occasionally self-sabotaging their own success.

When Warner Bros. is at its best, they make the greatest cartoons ever.

When they’re at their worst, they cancel those great cartoons for tax reasons.
